Decision Rule

Application of the Mass Laboratory Decision Rule

Our laboratory holds the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories and is accredited by TÜRKAK in this field. As mandated by this standard, we are required to implement this rule.

When a customer requests a statement of conformity to a specification or standard for test results (e.g., pass/fail, within tolerance/outside tolerance), this rule must be applied.

In line with the expectations of the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, the Decision Rule must be applied for the relevant analyses within our scope, and an agreement must be reached with the customer.

Below, you can find the options for how our laboratory can apply this rule.

If You Have No Specific Preference

If the product or test standard mandates a statement of conformity in the laboratory report but does not provide any information about the confidence level or the effect of measurement uncertainty in evaluating conformity, then our laboratory—without considering the confidence level or measurement uncertainty—will evaluate conformity or non-conformity solely based on whether the obtained result falls within the specified limits.
